Summertime Vines Update

Look at those Grapes!  What an exciting difference you can see in just a few short weeks.  We are more than happy to report that most of our grape clusters throughout the vineyard are in great shape this season!  Unfortunately a portion of the south vineyard has been lost to black rot, but you can’t win ’em all right?  They say a picture is worth one thousand words, and if you take a look at the photos of our grapes you’ll know why.  All the grapes that were not lost to the fungus are quite robust and plentiful as you can see!  The black rot has been a pest, but the problem has been addressed and we are proud to say that we think we now have it under control. Last year we had to cut back the vines on the North side of the Vineyard so there was no cluster production, but fortunately this season we are looking at yielding 3 to 4 times the amount of grapes due to the flourishing Northern vines.  That means we are looking at increasing our amount harvested from 300 pounds last year to nearly 1400 pounds this year.  What an improvement!  As to when we will harvest, well that is always anyone’s guess, but we believe it will take place sometime in mid to late July.  You know, perfect timing for it to be nice and hot for us.  But it will be so worth it to have our best harvest yet!  If you are interested in the harvesting process we would love for you to come stay for a few nights and help us during the process.  Give us a call to book your reservations now and be a part of this great experience!

Cheers
